St. Louis, Mo. (KFMO) – The St. Louis Blues earned three of four possible points from a back-to-back Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday the Blues were less than a minute away from victory over Winnipeg before the Jets tied it to force overtime and won in a shootout, 4-3. Winnipeg’s Gabriel Vilardi had a pair of goals in the win. Pavel Buchnevich had a goal and two assists, and Robert Thomas added two goals and an assist in the loss.
St. Louis needed the answer on Sunday and they got it with a three goal second period to flip the script on the Colorado Avalanche. Colorado scored first on a deflection in the first period, then Dylan Holloway, Colton Parayko, and Brayden Schenn scored in the second to give the Blues the lead. Goaltender Jordan Binnington made 28 saves in his return from the 4 Nations Face-Off.
St. Louis (26-26-6) are five points behind Vancouver for the final wild card spot. The Blues host Seattle on Tuesday on B104.3, coverage begins at 6:30pm.
