Edmonton, CA (KFMO) - The St. Louis Blues dropped its second straight contest Wednesday, giving up a goal with 21 seconds left to fall 4-3 to the Edmonton Oilers.
The Blues scored the first goal of the game, a backhand from Ryan Suter that served as the only goal of the first period. The Oilers then scored back-to-back goals in the second, before Jordan Kyrou tied things up at 2-2 just 14 seconds in the third.
After the Oilers again took the lead with another goal, Pavel Buchnevich would get the Blues back to equal footing with 15 minutes to play. However, after a long scoreless stretch, the Oilers would find the decisive goal, Connor Brown putting one past Jordan Binnington with 21 seconds to play, and giving the game to Edmonton 4-3.
St. Louis falls to 43-30-7, and now hold the second wild card spot. The Blues are yet to clinch, but could do so this weekend with a win and a Calgary Flames loss. The Blues play Seattle on the road this Saturday.
