(Park Hills, MO) The third seed South Iron Lady Panthers defeated the sixth seeded Ste Genevieve Dragons 56-37 in the final game of the girls’ quarterfinals at the Central Lady Rebels Christmas Tournament. The Lady Panthers were led in scoring by Anna Parker, who scored 17 points.
The Lady Panthers jumped ahead early in the first quarter and never surrendered the lead. Despite being down for the entirety of the game, the Dragons stayed close until the second half when South Iron began to pull away.
Chloe Staffen led the Dragons with 11 points scored while grabbing six rebounds. Enzley Dinkins and Payton German both collected double digit points for the Lady Panthers alongside Parker, scoring 16 and 11 respectively. Dinkins also grabbed eight rebounds in the win.
South Iron will play the Fredericktown Lady Cats Thursday, Dec. 28 at 2:30 pm and Ste Gen will play the Potosi Lady Trojans Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 11:30 am.
