(Sullivan, MO) The North County Raiders and Sullivan Eagles faced off in the only football game Thursday night to determine not only which team would have a 6-3 record heading into districts next week, but seeding before the tournaments begin.
Sullivan used their rushing game early and often, scoring on their second drive of the game in the first quarter thanks to a fake punt call on fourth down at midfield. Chase Blue, who also ran for 23 yards on the fake punt, cashed in the touchdown from 2 yards out, with quarterback Robert York II attempting and making their two point conversion.
North County would exercise their rushing prowess immediately after, as they drove down the field and as play began in the second quarter, Noah Lashley punched it in from a yard out to tie the game at 8.
It was the start of a big night for Lashley and the raiders. North county would force six total turnovers on senior night for Sullivan and Noah Lashley finished with over 125 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns, as well as intercepting a pass and recovering a fumble on defense. North County would shut out Sullivan the rest of the game, winning by a final score of 35-8.
North County moves to 6-3 and are seeded fourth in the Class 4, District 1 Tournament. They will play 5-DeSoto.
