(Potosi, MO) The Potosi Lady Trojans continue the hot start to the season after dispatching the Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers in straight sets 25-21, 25-11, 25-19.
Set 1 featured a handful of ties after Arcadia Valley opened to a 4-0 lead. The Lady Tigers later had to extinguish a countering Potosi run to draw within a point late in the set. Potosi would close out the first set on a 4-1 run.
The second set was all Potosi, or should we say, all Robart. Junior Ava Robart and Freshman Eden Robart led the Lady Trojan offense in the second set as the Trojans closed out the middle set with no pressure from the Lady Tigers.
Ava Robart continued her attacking threat in the decisive set, finishing the night with 24 kills unofficially, combined with 5 service aces. Eden Robart added 12 kills. After the win, Potosi head coach, Ashley Matthews says her team did a great job in each set.
Arcadia Valley head coach, Tara Lamb is proud of her team’s effort despite the loss in straight sets.
Potosi improves to 3-1 and host Steelville Wednesday night, while Arcadia Valley hosts Advance Thursday. The Lady Tigers fall to 3-1.
