Ironton, Mo. (KFMO) - The Potosi Lady Trojans defeated the Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers in straight sets on Tuesday, 25-21, 25-10, 25-20.
Potosi (2-1) started off slow, as the Lady Tigers (1-3) started the first set on a 5-1 run. However, the Lady Trojans soon started to show their strength, setting up multiple plays for both senior Ava Robart and sophomore Eden Robart. They'd go on a 6-1 run of their own to take a 7-6 lead. Arcadia Valley would stay close, but Potosi kept them at arm's length the rest of the way to take the first set.
After a dominant second set by Potosi, Arcadia Valley was able to get back to their first set success. However, the combined efforts of Ava and Eden Robart were ultimately too much to handle, as Potosi took the straight set victory.
Ava Robart led Potosi with 19 kills, while Eden Robart had 11. Senior Layla Juliette had 5 as well. Arcadia Valley senior Kayla Sumpter recorded 7 kills, while senior Skylar Romines finished with 3 kills and 3 blocks.
The Lady Trojans play Wednesday at Steelville. Arcadia Valley travels to Advance on Thursday.
