(Park Hills, MO) The fifth seeded Festus Tigers defeated the second seed Fredericktown Lady Cats 36-34 to place third in the 38th annual Central Lady Rebels Christmas Tournament. This is the third game of the day that ended with just a two point differential.
Fredericktown led early putting up 13 in the first half and holding the Festus offense to just eight points. Festus answered back in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Cats 12-7. Out of the half, scoring came at a premium for both teams. Both teams put up less than 10 points in the quarter with the Tigers outscoring the Lady Cats 6-4. The fourth quarter was back and forth, but with Fredericktown down late they failed to foul soon enough and ran out of time.
Alyzah Scaggs led the Tigers in scoring with 10 points and collecting five rebounds. Olivia Madden put up an additional nine points for the Tigers. Ciarra McDonald and Liz Scaggs also grabbed 6 rebounds apiece for Festus. Fredericktown was led by nine points from Callie Allgier,
Festus ends with a 2-1 record in the tournament, placing third. Fredericktown finished with a 1-2 record, placing fourth.
