(Park Hills, MO) CJ Wright will be the new softball coach at Mineral Area College after it was announced at Thursday's Board meeting. Wright spent the last 9 seasons as softball coach at West County High School.

Wright coached his sister Ricki Lyn Laughlin and daughter Gracie Wright during his 9 seasons with the Lady Bulldogs. He takes over the position after MAC Athletic Director Jim Gerwitz and Assistant AD Mike Overman were interim coaches in 2023.
West County went 23-5 this past season, while MAC went 7-43 and were the Region 16 runner-up.
