Cape Girardeau, Mo. (KFMO) - #13 Southeastern Missouri shut out the Demons of Northwestern State, 19-0, on Saturday.
In a game in which the Redhawks (4-1) were widely expected to dominate, the team did just that. The defense held the Demons (0-5) to just over 100 yards of total offense.
Offensively, SEMO had its struggles, but scored a touchdown on its first drive of the game, a 10-yard pass from Paxton DeLaurent to Cam Pedro to put the Redhawks up 7-0. After that, the team did enough to consistently get into field goal range. Kicker DC Pippin made the most of his chances, going 4-4 on his attempts, hitting one in all four quarters.
With the defense continuing to hold firm, the Redhawks cruised to a 19-0 victory. Next week, SEMO head to Eastern Illinois for a Big South-Ohio Valley Conference Association matchup on October 5th.
