Charleston, Ill. (KFMO) - Southeast Missouri led start to finish Saturday, beating Eastern Illinois 38-27.
The Redhawks came out of the locker room ready to play, as they jumped on the Panthers to take a 17-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. While the game would never approach blowout territory, SEMO could cruise the rest of the way as they matched Eastern Illinois at every step.
Quarterback Paxton DeLaurent tied his career high for touchdowns, throwing 3 scores for 364 yards. SEMO is 3-1 on the road, and is now ranked #9 in the latest American Football Coaches Association poll. It's their first Top 10 ranking in 14 years.
The Redhawks return to Cape Girardeau on October 12th, hosting Tennessee Tech.
