Kansas City, Mo. (KFMO) - The Kansas City Chiefs remain the one and only undefeated team in the AFC, defeating the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football 26-13.
For once, the Chiefs were able to lead from the start and never trailed. An opening drive touchdown for running back Kareem Hunt gave Kansas City a 7-0 lead, and a further three field goals for Harrison Butker gave the Chiefs a 16-7 halftime lead.
After a scoreless third quarter, the Saints brought back to 16-13 early in the 4th, but Xavier Worthy scored a touchdown of his own on the next drive to push the Chiefs' lead to two scores once again. Another Butker field goal would give us the final score of 26-13.
The Chiefs are now 5-0 and are the only undefeated team in the AFC. The Minnesota Vikings are the only other undefeated team in the NFL. Kansas City heads into their bye week, before facing San Francisco on October 20th.
