Woman Killed in Jefferson County Wreck

(Jefferson County, MO) A woman from St. Louis, 49 year old Holly C. Francis, is dead following a 4 car wreck in Jefferson County last night. The Missouri Highway Patrol says it happened just before 7 o'clock on highway 21, south of Vineland Road. 46 year old Thomas J Fitzgerald, of House Springs, was headed south. He attempted to pass 2 vehicles, an SUV being driven by 36 year old Robin E Hayes of Cadet, and a pickup driven by 65 year old Michael R. Ronchetto, of Potosi. Fitzgerald's car hit the vehicle being driven by Francis head on. Francis lost control of her car and it spun into the path of Ronchetto's vehicle. Fitzgerald's car ran into the southbound lane, where it hit Hayes' car sending it into several trees. Francis was pronounced dead at the scene. Ronchetto was taken to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis with moderate injuries. Fitzgerald and Hayes were not injured.
