Winter Weather Driving Means Slow Down

(St. Francois County, MO) Missouri State Highway Patrolmen are asking residents to avoid driving during this round of severe winter weather. The Patrol's, Corporal Dallas Thompson, says if you do have to drive somewhere, and the roads are slick, how fast you drive is an important factor.

Thompson also says to remember your winter weather kit for your vehicle. Keep extra blankets, bottled water, and packaged foods that are easy to eat, with you in case of travel emergencies. Even charging devices for your cell phone and a flashlight are good to keep in the kit. According to Thompson a bag of grit in the trunk may come in handy in a slippery situation.
