Winter Storm Road Preparations

(St. Francois County, MO) Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation are winding down their snow plow efforts after our winter storm. An Area Engineer with MODOT, Chris Crocker, says according to weather information they were given prior to the storm, crews developed a plan on the best approach to cleaning up the roads.

Crocker adds Missouri weather can change quickly so MODOT crews have to be prepared for almost everything. Crocker advises it's best to stay home when winter storms strike however if you have to drive use caution. Drive slowly, allow for extra stopping distances, and be aware of treacherous visibility limitations during heavy snowfalls.
