Water Restored to Park Hills and Leadington; Boil Water Advisory Remains in Effect

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Water service has been restored to most areas of the Park Hills area, including Leadington, following recent disruptions. However, residents should be aware that water pressure may remain lower than normal as crews continue efforts to fully replenish the system.

Boil Water Advisory
A Boil Water Advisory remains in place for residents of Park Hills and Leadington. Residents are advised to boil water for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene purposes until further notice.

Testing and Next Steps
The water department will collect samples for testing early Friday morning, with samples transported to a facility in Jackson. Efforts are underway to expedite testing, and results are expected by Saturday.

If the tests confirm safe water quality, the advisory may be lifted by Saturday. However, in the event of contamination, a formal boil water order will be issued.

Schools Open on Schedule
Despite the advisory, the Central School District will operate on its regular schedule today, following close coordination with city officials.

Timeline

Friday Morning: Water sampling and transport to the lab
Saturday: Expected receipt of lab results
Saturday: Possible lifting of the advisory, pending favorable results
Residents are encouraged to stay informed and check for updates as the situation develops.
