(Washington, MO) Two people are suffering serious injuries after an SUV and a pick up collided in Washington County just before noon Tuesday. Highway Patrol reports indicate 52 year old William L. Hovis of Cadet, was driving the truck west on Bottom Diggins Road, at Dog Patch Lane, when it crossed the center of the road and crashed into the SUV. It was being driven by 37 year old James W. Thompson of Potosi. The SUV rolled over onto its side and slid off the right side of the road. The pick up traveled west, in the eastbound lanes, and ran off the road. Hovis and Thompson were taken to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis. They were not wearing their seat belts when the wreck took place.
