St. Francois County Man Sentenced to Over 24 Years in Prison for Child Pornography Charges

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A St. Francois County man has been sentenced to more than 24 years in federal prison after being caught again with child sexual abuse material.

U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey on Friday sentenced 35-year-old David Russell Darr Jr. to 293 months in prison. Judge Autrey also added three additional years to Darr’s sentence for violating his supervised release from a 2010 conviction for production of child pornography. Darr, who lives near Farmington, pleaded guilty in June to one count of receipt of child pornography. His latest case began in February 2023 when the Missouri State Highway Patrol received four CyberTipline reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. According to Darr’s plea agreement, three of the reports indicated he uploaded child sexual abuse material, and the fourth revealed he sent an explicit image to someone on Instagram. Investigators later searched Darr’s bedroom, finding a microSD card containing child sexual abuse material taped under his bed.

Additional illegal material was also found on his cell phone. Darr remains in federal custody.
