Washington County Traffic Death

(Washington County, MO.) A 75 year old woman from Desoto, Barbara M. Shaffer, is dead after she was involved in a two vehicle accident in Washington County Saturday afternoon. Highway Patrol records show the accident happened about 1:40 when an S.U.V. driven south on Highway 47 north of Carp Lake Road by 24 year old Joshua A Parker of Pacific, crashed into Shaffer's car which was headed north. The impact caused Shaffer's car to run off the right side of the road and crash into a fence. Parker's S.U.V. rolled over and hit the fence. Shaffer was pronounced dead at Washington County Memorial Hospital. Parker received minor injuries. Shaffer was wearing her seat belt when the wreck occurred, Parker was not.
