Washington County Man Charged After Assault with Vehicle

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Cadet man is facing multiple charges after allegedly using his vehicle to assault another person.

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to an assault involving a vehicle, where they found a victim who had been struck by a 2002 Dodge Dakota. Investigators determined that the suspect, identified as Timothy Portell, had engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim before using his vehicle to hit him.

Authorities say Portell then began performing donuts around the victim in an apparent attempt to strike him again. The victim was able to defend himself using a crescent wrench, breaking the rear glass of the suspect's vehicle, which prompted Portell to flee the scene.

Portell was later taken into custody and charged with First-Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and Property Damage. His bond was set at $50,000 surety.
