Update on Fatal Scooter Accident

(Park Hills, MO) A name is being released from last Sunday's fatal accident involving a scooter and a pick up in Park Hills. Police say 60 year old John Umfleet, of Park Hills, was riding a scooter east on East Main when it struck the side of a pickup driven by a 35 year old man from Leadwood. The impact of the crash threw Umfleet off the scooter and underneath the truck causing fatal injuries. St. Francois County Coroner, Jason Coplin, responded to the scene and pronounced Umfleet dead. The man from Leadwood was not reported as receiving injuries in the crash.
