Blower Motor Malfunction Causes Fire Alarm at Parkland Health Center

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - A malfunctioning blower motor on the roof of Parkland Health Center was the cause of a fire alarm that brought a response from the Farmington Fire Department on Tuesday afternoon.

Parkland Health Center President Annette Schnable says the issue led to smoke, prompting hospital staff to evacuate patients for a short time as crews investigated.

Once it was confirmed there was no fire, normal operations resumed, and patient care continued without further interruption. Schnable says the hospital’s facilities management team is addressing the problem, and no injuries were reported.

She also praised staff for following emergency protocols exactly as planned.
