(Park Hills, MO.) The annual MAC Jazz Festival performances at Mineral Area College will be held This weekend both Friday and Saturday nights in the Fine Arts Theater. This year's featured performer is Grammy Award winner Trombonist Michael Dease. The Director of Jazz Studies at Mineral Area College, Dr. Bennett Wood, says Dease not only plays for the public portion of the festival he will also meet with students from schools throughout the area prior to the shows.
Wood explains the Friday night show will be performed with Dease and a special group of Jazz clinicians who will also be on campus to work with students during the day and perform in the evening. The Saturday night show features Dease accompanied by the Mineral Area College Jazz Ensenble and the MAC Kicks Band. Tickets for the shows are $10 for students and $15 for adults.
