Ste. Genevieve County Traffic Death

(Ste. Genevieve County, MO) A woman from Ste. Genevieve, 36 year old Traci L. Ranta, is dead after she was killed in a traffic accident Monday night. Highway Patrol reports show Ranta was driving east on Route C, almost two miles from Sprott Road, just before 8 o'clock. Troopers say she was driving too fast for conditions when she lost control of her car and it ran off the highway. Ranta overcorrected and the car smashed into a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt when the wreck took place.
