State Carries Out Tisius Execution

(Bonne Terre, MO) Officials with the Missouri Department of Corrections are announcing the completion of the execution of Michael Tisius who was convicted of executing two unarmed jail guards, Jason Acton and Leon Egley, during a failed jailbreak of his former cellmate, Roy Vance. June 22nd of 2000. When he was apprehended Tisius provided law enforcement officers with written, and oral, confessions for the murders. His case received fair and careful review at each step in the judicial process. Tisius was put to death at 6 pm Tuesday at the Eastern Reception and Diagnostic Center at Bonne Terre. He becomes the third person this year to be executed by the state.
