St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Francois County Sheriff's Department has received approval from the county commission to apply for two seperate grants to assist in its operations.
The RSAT, or Residence Substance Abuse Treatment, grant would give $200,000 to the department. It would be used to create a job position, salary, benefits, and supply the equipment and training needed.
Lieutenant Mike Ryan says they would need to apply for the grant again in the future to keep funds available.
The second grant, the Local Violent Crime Prevention grant, is for $25,000 and would be used for equipment such as fingerprint scanners, license plate readers, or body-worn cameras.
