Heavy Rainfall Expected in the Parkland, Flooding a Concern

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The Parkland is bracing for several inches of rain through Sunday, raising concerns about potential flooding in low-lying areas.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Corporal Dallas Thompson says the region has several flood-prone areas that can quickly become hazardous.

With heavy rainfall in the forecast, officials urge drivers to remain cautious. Never attempt to cross a flooded roadway, as just a few inches of moving water can sweep a vehicle away.

The National Weather Service reminds residents to follow the "Turn Around, Don't Drown" safety rule—if you see water covering a road, find an alternate route to avoid getting stranded or putting yourself in danger.
