St. Francois County Sales Tax Climbs

(St. Francois County, MO) The latest sales tax figure in St. Francois County shows another rise in the numbers. The tax was reported at Tuesday's St. Francois County Commission meeting. The Presiding Commissioner of the county, Harold Gallaher, says the increase should be leveling off soon since some goods are at an artificially high cost due to shortages related to the pandemic.

Sales tax is up at 10.98% year to date from last April in the county. In other business Commissioners approved a grant application for the St. Francois County Prosecutor's Office. If approved the grant would fund another attorney for the office.
