St. Francois County Monday Wreck

(St. Francois Co., MO) A 17 year old female juvenile from Bonne Terre is recovering from moderate injuries after she was hurt in a two vehicle crash Monday night just after 8 o'clock in St. Francois County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a pickup was being driven south on Highway 47 by 25 year old Richard K. Thompson of Mineral Point. At the same time an SUV, driven by John J. Benear of Bonne Terre, was headed north. Benear turned into the path of Thompson's vehicle while attempting to make a left turn onto Rue Bonne Terre. Thompson swerved to the right to avoid a crash and his pickup ran off the right side of the road striking the curb and a ditch.

Thompson, and the female 17 year old, were taken to Parkland Health Center North at Bonne Terre. They were not wearing a seat belt when the wreck took place. Benear was not injured.
