(Park Hills, MO) Beginning next year, St. Francois County 911 will be contracting for full consolidation services for Perry County. 911 Director Alan Wells, says the decision was made by the residents in Perry County, voting against the tax initiative on the April 2 ballot.
Wells adds that the 911 center will need to employ more staff to cover the influx of calls. The cost will be covered by the contractual agreement with Perry County to subsidize that cost. Beside St. Francois County 911 workers handling the county's own calls, they also cover Ste. Genevieve and Iron Counties. Wells says that the consolidation should be complete by the beginning of 2025.
