Silver Dollar City Still Open After Fire

(Branson, MO) Silver Dollar City officials confirm three structures are damage after a fire at the popular theme park early Thursday afternoon. The blaze was discovered prior to opening the gates. The fire was from Heartland Home Furnishings to Flossie’s Fried Fancies in the lower western portion of the park. The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District responded quickly to the fire which began at about 12:45. It took about an hour for firemen to get control of the blaze. The front entrance area had opened, as usual, one hour prior to the park opening, the majority of the park had no guest access. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Silver Dollar City will continue to open as scheduled.
