SFC Health Department and Lead Poisoning

(Park HIlls, MO) Administrators with the St. Francois County Health Department are working to prevent instances of lead poisoning among children living in the county. Ashley Thornton, RN, Nursing Supervisor and Immunization Coordinator for the county, says houses built before 1978 pose a potential risk, but notes that you can mitigate that risk with good hygiene, house cleaning, and proper diet.

Thornton went on to say that the county has lead case managers and performs lead testing. For more, you can contact the St. Francois County Health Department by dialing 573-431-1947, extension 131.
