Potosi Natural Gas Main Break Update

(Potosi, MO) A gas line that broke yesterday in Potosi is fixed. In a social media post, officials with the City of Potosi say they are working to get most of the customers restored by this evening. A press release from Potosi city officials indicates at around 8:30 Tuesday morning, a gas main was damaged during the installation of a new gas line. No injuries were reported. About 900 facilities and homes were effected. In anticipation of the winter storm approaching, the Red Cross is providing a shelter at the Potosi Southern Baptist Church at 10165 West State Highway 8 in Potosi. One source tells KFMO B104 News multiple businesses had to close because of no heat and no gas to cook with. The Potosi School district ended classes early yesterday.
