Potosi Man Dies in Mining Accident

(Potosi, MO) A man from Potosi, 38 year old Gregory Lowell Solomon, is dead after a limestone mining accident outside of Potosi is said to have claimed his life this week. Reports from the U.S. Department of Mine Safety and Health Administration show Solomon was working at the Washington County Aggregates Incorporated Mill Prep Plant last Monday afternoon when the accident took place. According to reports Solomon was working as a ground man when he became entangled in a belt conveyor's pulley. The accident occurred about 1:15 and Solomon died about 20 minutes later. He had worked with the company around eight months. There were additional employees on site but there were no other injuries reported.
