(Park HIlls, MO.) The internet use tax that's coming up on the ballot in Park Hills, during the April election, is getting more attention. Park Hills City Administrator Mark McFarland says the tax is misunderstood by many. McFarland adds the tax applies for materials purchases of over $2,000.
McFarland says the tax is also self reporting meaning the consumer would be responsible for collecting, reporting, and paying the tax. McFarland explains the one thing they want people to understand is that this is not an extra tax on personal purchases over the internet like DVD's, clothing, or other products for consumers.
