New York Man Arrested in Potosi

(Farmington, MO) A man from New York, Theo D. Cooke, has a bond reduction hearing next Tuesday in St. Francois County court after he was arrested on one count of Stealing, Or Attempting To Steal, From a Financial Institution, six counts of forgery, and two counts of Identity Theft or Attempted Identity Theft, 1st Offense. Cooke is accused of applying for a $70,000 automobile loan, with Belgrade State Bank, online using the identification information of someone from California. According to reports Cooke had applied for the loan May 9th. He was arrested May 23rd at Belgrade State Bank in Potosi. It's alleged Cooke was using the identity of a California Dental Surgeon. He's being held on a cash only bond of $250,000.
