Murder Charges Filed in Park Hills Death

(Park Hils, MO.) A man from Valles Mines, 20 year old Dylan Murray, and a man from St. Louis, 34 year old Jasson McCormick, are charged with first degree murder, armed criminal action, stealing a motor vehicle, and stealing in the death of 38 year old Jessica Cerchi of Park Hills. Sources indicate Park Hills Police were called to an apartment on Seventh Street last Thursday afternoon around 5 o'clock. Relatives of Cerchi hadn't heard from her for some time and wanted police to check on her. Police found Cerchi's body. An autopsy showed she had suffered more than 20 puncture wounds and appeared to have been strangled. Reports show The victim's vehicle was missing and that Murray and McCormick were involved in a wreck in Jefferson County December 11th in the victim's vehicle. It's also alleged the pair took the vehicle out of state, went to a casino, and used a credit card device and EBT card of Cerchi's. During interviews with police McCormick indicated Murray had attacked and stabbed Cerchi in the early morning hours of December 9th. In Murray's interview he told police McCormick had attacked and stabbed Cerchi. Both Murray and McCormick are being held at the St. Francois County Jail. Both men have a criminal history.
