Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - This month, the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA) hosted its annual Classified Staff Day at Mineral Area College's brand-new Industry and Technology Center.
The event drew 80 registrants, matching last year's attendance at Ozarks Technical College, and saw an increase in participants traveling to attend the seminar.
The day featured a series of informative sessions tailored to support classified staff members in their roles across community colleges. Topics included "Your Communication Type & Using It Effectively," "How Colleges Use Their Brand & How You Can Help" and "Mental Health, Self-Care & Maintaining a Work-Life Balance."
The sessions were designed to improve skills, encourage teamwork and promote well-being. Additionally, MAC escorted registrants on a tour of the ITC building, which houses various programs that give students specialized technical training.
"This year's Classified Staff Day was a huge success," said MCCA President and CEO Brian Millner. "It is encouraging to see the growth in participation and the enthusiasm for professional development among staff. They are always very grateful when we hold professional development events for them, and we received feedback on what a tremendous host MAC was."
The 2025 Classified Staff Day host site will be decided at the annual MCCA convention this November.
