(Park Hills, MO.) Students who attend Mineral Area College will pay a little more per credit hour after members of the schools Board of Trustees approved the increase at Thursday's board meeting. The President of Mineral Area College, Dr. Joe Gilgour, says they held off the increase as long as they could however, being underfunded by the state eventually contributed to the rise in cost.
The rate for students in district went up $5 and the rate for out of district students increased $10. An international tuition rate was also established. In other business at the MAC Board of trustees meeting a report on corona virus preparations was given as well as an update on ransomware attack preparedness. The Champion of Excellence award was given to Dr. George Saum who teaches engineering for MAC.
