Man Held after Threats Against Festus School

(Festus, MO) A man from Festus, identified as 27 year old Mitchell Lovelace, is in police custody following a December 4th social media post that stated quote "I'm going to shoot Festus High School Students in the name of Kyle Rittenhouse". Festus Police officers were alerted to the threat, prompting them to arrest Lovelace at his home. Lovelace is charged with 2nd degree making a terrorist threat and is being held at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro without bond. School resource officers at Festus R6 School District are now on heightened patrols.
