Heat Wave Coming to the Area

(St. Francois County, MO) Officials at the National Weather Service say east central and southeast Missourians can expect some very hot temperatures Friday. A Meteorologist with the NWA, Alex Elmore, says heat can have a built up effect on your health over time and the culmination of high temperatures Friday could be even more dangerous if you've been working outside for the past several days.

Elmore adds the forecast for Friday shows we could have a temperature of 100 degrees with a heat index of possibly 105. According to Elmore if you must be outdoors keep hydrated by drinking lots of water and wear lighter colored clothing. A Light colored cap or head covering is also helpful.
