Former Jefferson County Deputy Molestation Charges

(Jefferson County, MO.) A Mineral Point man, who is a former Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy, 25 year old Joshua Skaggs, is being charged with one count of child molestation in the 4th degree plus endangering the welfare of a child in the 1st degree. Law enforcement officials charged Skaggs after alleged off duty incidents that took place in September and July this year. A press release form Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak, indicates Skaggs touched two teenage girls, one 14 and the other 13 years old, in an inappropriate manner while they were sleeping. Reports also allege the two woke up and caught Skaggs in the act. The press release indicates Skaggs turned himself over to Sheriff's Deputies Wednesday. He posted bond and was released. Skaggs had been a deputy with the department since June of 2016.
