Former Councilman Awaiting Sentencing

(Park HIlls, MO.) A former Park Hills Councilman, 54 year old Steven Sutton, will be sentenced after a Sentencing Assessment Report following the entry of a guilty plea at a plea hearing in St. Francois County Court Friday. Sutton was charged in March of 2017 with drug trafficking in the first degree, a class A felony. Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Reports show a traffic stop on Highway 32, in Ste. Genevieve County, netted nearly a pound of methamphetamine and a cell phone with alleged recorded conversations between one of those in the vehicle and Sutton confirming the purchase arrangements for the meth. Sutton has a prior record including charges of receiving stolen property, third degree assault, and a parole violation.
