St. Francois County, Mo. (KFMO) - On Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 9:04 a.m., multiple fire departments responded to a report of a structure fire on Highway OO near Busiek Road in St. Francois County.
The first unit, from the Farmington Fire Department, arrived at the scene at 9:14 a.m., reporting smoke visible from a two-and-a-half-story single-family home. Further investigation confirmed a working fire inside the dwelling.
Firefighters from Farmington and Wolf Creek Fire Protection District deployed a 1 ¾-inch hand line to the front of the house and initiated an interior fire attack. The homeowner informed responders that everyone had safely exited the building. A primary search conducted by crews confirmed no occupants were inside. Command for the operation was established upon the arrival of additional units. The fire was brought under control as crews transitioned from the main level to the second floor to check for any fire extension.
Additional assistance with water supply and overhaul operations was provided by the Desloge and Big River Fire Departments. The Fredericktown Fire Department provided station coverage for the responding departments. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries have been reported.
