Washington Co., Mo (KFMO) - No injuries are reported after a residential structure fire broke out Monday afternoon in Washington County, heavily damaging a home and spreading to an outbuilding and surrounding brush.
According to the Potosi Fire Protection District, emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 2:25 p.m. to a fire in the 19000 block of State Highway AA. Upon arrival, firefighters found a double-wide mobile home 50 percent engulfed in flames, with a nearby outbuilding fully involved and an undetermined amount of brush burning. Due to the intensity of the fire, a second alarm was issued for additional manpower and water tankers. Firefighters worked for nearly two hours to bring the blaze under control, with the fire officially contained around 4 p.m.
Multiple agencies responded to assist, including the Washington County Ambulance District and fire departments from De Soto, Hillsboro, Big River, Caledonia, Belgrade, Park Hills, Leadwood, and Desloge. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
