Farmington Man Gets Prison and Fine

(Farmington, MO) A Farmington man, 44 year old Bruce Cortez, is facing a fine and prison time after an appearance in St. Francois County Court last week. Cortez pled guilty in November to second degree burglary and misdemeanor property damage. He was accused of breaking into the Huddle House restaurant in Bonne Terre and stealing various items including steaks. Cortez was given a seven year prison sentence and was ordered to pay $2,779 in restitution. Records indicate Cortez broke into the  restaurant after it closed September 6th. Cortez could be given probation after 120 days.
