Desoto Man Killed in Motorcycle Wreck

(Jefferson County, MO) A Desoto man, 55 year old Michael D. Politte, is dead after the motorcycle he was riding was struck by an SUV in Jefferson County Saturday after noon just after 3:20. State Highway Patrolmen say Politte was headed west on Highway 110, near Athena School Road, when the SUV, driven by Everett K. Govro, also from Desoto, pulled into the intersection failing to yield to Politte's motorcycle. Both vehicles crashed into one another and began spinning clockwise until they ran off the road. Politte, who was not wearing a helmet when the wreck took place, was pronounced dead at the scene.Govro was not injured.
