DeSoto Man Injured in Accident

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A DeSoto man is recovering from moderate injuries after an accident in Jefferson County on Monday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 59-year-old John L. Ries was traveling, in a truck, westbound on Sandy Church Road when the accident occurred. Ries traveled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a house.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis for treatment. The truck that Ries was traveling in was listed as totaled.

He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
