Desloge Mayor Impeachment

Desloge, Mo. (KFMO) - Desloge Mayor Pete Pasternak has released a statement concerning the attempt by aldermen to impeach him.

In his statement Mayor Pasternak says, "The Desloge Board of Aldermen voted last Monday to initiate the impeachment process in a non-unanimous decision. This item was not initially on the agenda and was added at the beginning of the meeting as an amended item, leaving the public uninformed. Later, the Board took the unprecedented step of amending the agenda a second time to permit a vote on this matter. Despite these developments, I remain your mayor and am committed to serving every Desloge resident as I always have. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out.”

After reviewing a draft copy of the minutes from the meeting KFMO B104 News confirmed the two amendments with aldermen all voting in favor of initiating the impeachment proceedings against the mayor. The amendment was initiated by Ward I Alderman, John Wigger. During another amendment, on whether or not to hold the impeachment vote, only Ward III Alderwoman, Debra Kester, voted against it.

The information contained in the draft copy of the minutes for the Monday, June 10 Desloge Board of Aldermen meeting is unofficial until approved by the board at their next meeting.
