Desloge Man Faces Charges of Rape

(Washington County, MO.) A man from Desloge, 38 year old John M. Roberts, will make an appearance in Washington County Court Tuesday July 7th on three class D felony counts of statutory rape in the 2nd degree. Roberts is accused of having sex with a female who was under the age of 17 at the time. Reports indicate the alleged acts occurred from January to June of 2019 in Washington County. Reports also show the girl and Roberts have both admitted to the sexual acts that are said to have taken place when the girl was 16 years old. Roberts was taken into custody and transported to the St. Francois County jail. He posted a $50,000 bond and has been released from custody.
