(St. Francois County, MO.) Even though all in person court proceedings in Missouri have been suspended by the State Supreme Court, county prosecutors can still conduct live video proceedings. St. Francois County Prosecutor, Melissa Gilliam, says this makes it possible to keep some cases going now that the county offices are being man with half the normal amount of employees.
According to Gilliam they've had no jury trials or in person work since the court decision March 16th to halt the practice amidst concerns over spreading the caronavirus. Gilliam adds they have staff answering phones for the office and are keeping busy working at home as well.
